Protecting your privacy is important to Golf Trails Inc. We hope the following policy will help you understand how Golf Trails collects, uses, and safeguards the personal information you provide on our web site.
You can browse anonymously on several of Golf Trails’s pages without registering for our services. Like many other commercial web sites, the Golf Trails web site may use a standard technology called a “cookie” to collect information about how you use the site.
In some of our customer e-mail communication, we use a device called a “click-through URL.” When you click on one of these URLs, you pass through our system before arriving at the web site that is your true destination. We do not share this data with anyone. If you register with Golf Trails, for example, we collect your name, contact number and extension e-mail address, and a password. This information is used to create a personal ID, called “Golf Trails Username.” This ID gives you easy and immediate access to Golf Trails services. Here’s how it works: you fill out your Golf Trails Registration with the required information. Once you enter your information and have completed your registration by clicking the REGISTER button, you will receive immediate confirmation as well as an e-mail confirmation with your username and password, along with some general information on how to use the site.
If you provide us with your e-mail address, we will send you updates on the latest Golf Trails products and promotions. We do not share your personal information with other companies, except the golf courses at which you play. Golf Trails understands and respects the privacy needs of all its subscribers. At the same time, we have a responsibility to assist the participating clubs that pay for the operation of the Golf Trails network. To meet the needs of both related parties, we have created the following policies:
- Golf Trails shall not share information with any group or person outside the Golf Trails network.
- Participating clubs shall have access to information about the golfers who book tee times at their clubs. Golf courses have always requested names and phone numbers when golfers call for bookings – they need this information to hold bookings and to contact golfers in the event of tee-time changes or cancellations. Without data from golfers, clubs do not feel secure in the validity of their bookings.
- Participating clubs may contact golfers via e-mail to inform them of specials, club events, and so on. Clubs agree to keep this information confidential and not share it with any third parties. Clubs can only contact golfers that have actually played at their course. If a golfer requests that his/her name be removed from the e-mail list, clubs shall respect and act upon this request.
- Golf Trails shall maintain the right to e-mail its subscribers to inform them of new participating clubs,as well as its new services and offerings. Such mailings shall not exceed one per month. Subscribers may opt-out if they choose.
Golf Trails is fully committed to data security. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information you provide to us online. However, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure the security of the information you transmit to us. In this regard, we urge you to take every precaution to protect your personal data while you are on the Internet. At a minimum, we encourage you to change your passwords often, using a combination of letters and numbers, and make sure that you are using a secure browser as you “surf” the Internet. If you have a question specific to privacy, please contact us at email@example.com. Golf Trails’s privacy policies are subject to change at any time and without notice.
